Drivers trade privacy for insurance discounts

Just a little bit of your privacy - we promise! A little freedom gone in return for a nice rate cut! Wouldn't you like that? Why, you could probably save $100 per year, just for letting our little computer go everywhere with you! We promise we won't use the information for anything but your rate cut ... really, we promise.

Lenin never really said "The capitalists are so hungry for profits that they will sell us the rope to hang them with." Oh, sure, he said something kinda like that, but what's to worry? We're good corporate citizens!

We won't ever use this to track you - and we'll never share data with law enforcement. We just want to save you some money, really! We're the good guys...you can trust us! I mean, you trusted Enron, didn't you?

For two months, Jacob Sevlie's insurance company tagged along whenever he slid behind the wheel of his Honda Accord.

Notes: If you put a <mailto:> link in the URL field your address will not be mangled: this could be a bad idea as your email address could be easily harvested by bots designed for SPAM. The comments field should now format correctly for line feeds and carriage returns: when you hit the 'Enter' or 'Return' keys in your comment it should break to a new line. The text should wrap cleanly. Please let me know if it doesn't. No HTML tags will pass through - entering links seems to be the main cause of comment SPAM. Also, please be sure that Javascript is enabled in your browser before attempting to post a writeback. Sorry for any inconvenience, but this really helps cut down on the amount of comment SPAM I have to deal with.
