Gingrich had affair during Clinton probe
The most galling thing:
Gingrich argued in the interview, however, that he should not be viewed as a hypocrite for pursuing Clinton's infidelity.
You can argue the point all you want, Newt. But argument won't change the fact that you are, in fact, the most despicable sort of hypocrite imaginable. You can't hide behind the sorry excuse of "enforcing the law": Clinton committed perjury after being hounded by you and your ilk on subjects that were, quite frankly, none of your business. It was a classic sting, and for you to have participated whilst carrying on your own illicit affair is the height, indeed the very pinnacle, of hypocrisy.
This is shaping up to be a true test of the integrity of the "religious right": if they adopt your sorry ass, they will have lost any claim to any sort of moral authority. And they haven't got much of a claim left to lose ...
AP - Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich acknowledged he was having an extramarital affair even as he led the charge against President Clinton over the Monica Lewinsky affair, he acknowledged in an interview with a conservative Christian group.

Update: They've just lost all claim to any sort of moral authority:
So, will religious voters forgive Gingrich? Dobson seemed inclined to think so.
"I think it's really important and will be for many of our listeners to know your responses to that point of disappointment back there someplace, and I really appreciate your willingness to do so," Dobson told Gingrich.
