Fla. motorcycle fatalities reportedly soar

Proving that the stupid remove themselves from the gene pool rather automatically...

If the State has a legitimate function, it is protection of it's citizens from aggression and fraud. It is not the duty of the State to protect one from oneself. Imagine a place where all activities that could be harmful to someone were banned. Would you really want to live in a place with no peanuts or swimming pools, no motorcycles or skydiving, no automobiles or hiking trails?

Life is inherently dangerous and risky - and a life without danger or risk isn't really living at all. It's up to the individual to make decisions involving risks for their own life: delegating this responsibility to the State would create a dystopia the likes of which the world has never seen.

AP - Motorcycle fatalities involving riders without helmets have soared in the nearly six years since Gov. Jeb Bush repealed the state's mandatory helmet law, a newspaper reported Sunday.

Notes: If you put a <mailto:> link in the URL field your address will not be mangled: this could be a bad idea as your email address could be easily harvested by bots designed for SPAM. The comments field should now format correctly for line feeds and carriage returns: when you hit the 'Enter' or 'Return' keys in your comment it should break to a new line. The text should wrap cleanly. Please let me know if it doesn't. No HTML tags will pass through - entering links seems to be the main cause of comment SPAM. Also, please be sure that Javascript is enabled in your browser before attempting to post a writeback. Sorry for any inconvenience, but this really helps cut down on the amount of comment SPAM I have to deal with.
