Dobbs: Drug war costs more lives, money than Iraq

If you actually need proof that Lou Dobbs is an idiot, look no further. He reads the statistics right and calls the Bushies to task for misreading them, admits we've been losing this "war" since it's inception, and then calls for "victory"! What the Hel does that mean? Throwing more good money after bad? "Cracking down" even harder?

When we will learn the lesson we should've learned in 1933?

We're fighting a war that is inflicting even greater casualties than the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and, incredibly, costing even more money. We're losing the War on Drugs, and we've been in retreat for three decades. Whatever course we follow in prosecuting other wars, we must commit ourselves as members of this great society to only one option in the War on Drugs -- victory.

Notes: If you put a <mailto:> link in the URL field your address will not be mangled: this could be a bad idea as your email address could be easily harvested by bots designed for SPAM. The comments field should now format correctly for line feeds and carriage returns: when you hit the 'Enter' or 'Return' keys in your comment it should break to a new line. The text should wrap cleanly. Please let me know if it doesn't. No HTML tags will pass through - entering links seems to be the main cause of comment SPAM. Also, please be sure that Javascript is enabled in your browser before attempting to post a writeback. Sorry for any inconvenience, but this really helps cut down on the amount of comment SPAM I have to deal with.
