The libertarian in me says it's every employers right to discriminate any way they choose. The Asatrurar in me says I wouldn't want to work for somebody like that in any event - they're almost bound to be assholes in other contexts, too. But the human being in me wants to scream bloody murder - how in the Hel can anyone, of any "faith" claim that discrimination based on religion is OK but discrimination based on nearly anything else is not?
This is the same internal contradiction inherent in workplace drug testing and credit checks - the admittedly arbitrary nature of such regimes just drives me up the wall.

Diskeeper founder and CEO Craig Jensen is a high level, publicly avowed Scientologist who has given millions to his Church. Diskeeper's surprising response to the lawsuit appears to be that religious instruction in a place of employment is protected by the First Amendment." The blogger at RealityBasedCommunity.net believes that the legal mechanism that Diskeeper is using to advance this argument ("motion to strike") is inappropriate and will be disallowed, but that the company will eventually be permitted to present its novel legal theory.
