Hanged Census worker had 'fed' on chest

Uh-oh.

AP - A U.S. Census worker found hanged from a tree near a Kentucky cemetery had the word "fed" scrawled on his chest, a law enforcement official said Wednesday, and the FBI is investigating whether he was a victim of anti-government sentiment.

For what it's worth, this happened in an area where marijuana farming and meth labs are major (by local standards) industries. So it's entirely possible that Mr. Sparkman merely stumbled on a local entrepreneur at work.

that if indeed the poor fellow had wandered into a pot plantation or discovered a meth lab that the drug traffickers that run such things would've written something more applicable, like, say, "narc". They've done that in the past - to the best of my knowledge this is the the only time "fed" has been used as "brand" in a murder. But you may be right - that seems to be the consensus in the followups, at least from community leaders in the area. In any case, thanks for the comment and Be well, Dave H.
