Ice Storm!

As if the weather hasn't been crazy enough, now we've got an ice storm! There's already about half an inch of ice crusted on the trees, and the wind is just howling out of the east, so I'm pretty sure we're going to lose power. Probably sooner rather than later.

We've already got water stocked in, and for the critters as well. It's funny - the Highlands hate ice. They'll tolerate hot and cold, rain doesn't bother then in the least, even the blizzard didn't phase them. But tonight all my cattle are in the barns, pushing and jostling with the goats and sheep and really making Hammer skittish. Hope nobody gets their face kicked in - I'm really not set up to have all of them jammed in like this, but at least I managed to get most of the sheep over to the east barn.

Well, I'm gonna make this post manually and then shut down the local server to ride out the storm. Happy Winter! Again!

Notes: If you put a <mailto:> link in the URL field your address will not be mangled: this could be a bad idea as your email address could be easily harvested by bots designed for SPAM. The comments field should now format correctly for line feeds and carriage returns: when you hit the 'Enter' or 'Return' keys in your comment it should break to a new line. The text should wrap cleanly. Please let me know if it doesn't. No HTML tags will pass through - entering links seems to be the main cause of comment SPAM. Also, please be sure that Javascript is enabled in your browser before attempting to post a writeback. Sorry for any inconvenience, but this really helps cut down on the amount of comment SPAM I have to deal with.
