Grandma to the Hospital

Wow - a busy day indeed. I neglected to mention that we put my Mom in the local hospital yesterday - a very serious case (at her age) of bronchitis with a possible pneumonia in one lung. She's a lot better already, and will probably be discharged tomorrow ....

Which is a problem, as tomorrow my eldest daughter, Rhiannon, graduates from college! First ever in the family - I've got enough credits but never put them together for a degree (and now, probably never will). So I need to be there for her graduation, and I need to get my Mom from the hospital and to top it all off, it's Mother's Day, of course.

But wait, there's more! From midnight last night to noon today we logged 3.5 inches of rain in the barn lot! Our east pasture was quite literally under water for most of the afternoon, and the creek came completely out of it's banks by 1 pm. They're predicting more storms tonight - I have no idea where all this water's gonna go. But the livestock is all OK, and nobody got swept away in the flood, so we are counting out blessings (and hoping for a dry spell).

Whew! Maybe I'll get a chance for an entry tomorrow....

Notes: If you put a <mailto:> link in the URL field your address will not be mangled: this could be a bad idea as your email address could be easily harvested by bots designed for SPAM. The comments field should now format correctly for line feeds and carriage returns: when you hit the 'Enter' or 'Return' keys in your comment it should break to a new line. The text should wrap cleanly. Please let me know if it doesn't. No HTML tags will pass through - entering links seems to be the main cause of comment SPAM. Also, please be sure that Javascript is enabled in your browser before attempting to post a writeback. Sorry for any inconvenience, but this really helps cut down on the amount of comment SPAM I have to deal with.
