Rome Journal: In Rome, a New Ritual on an Old Bridge

Lots of interesting angles in this tale: public trothplighting, invented ritual and not the least, a bridge that has stayed up for 2200 years...

To some, a tangled mess of padlocks on Rome’s oldest bridge is a symbol of undying love; to others, it is a menace tantamount to vandalism.
