A food revolution beckons, but few show up

I wonder how many of those supporting the adoption of GM crops would be in favor of installing an experimental fusion reactor in their neighborhood? Why no, no one's ever been hurt by a fusion reactor... and no, there's never even been a serious accident with a fusion reactor.

Of course, there's never been a fusion reactor at all.

Which is precisely the point.

Bioengineering is lot like nuclear engineering. One small mistake can have you on your knees, head between your legs, kissing your ass goodbye.

Do you want to trust the same industry that brought us such wonders as "pasteurized process cheese food product", green ketchup and stretchable fruit with this kind of power? Do you really want to trust anyone with this kind of ultimate responsibility?

Resistance to genetically modified foods may stall plans for a second 'green revolution.'
