Not Quite as Bad as Expected

We got about 3 inches of new snow yesterday, and the air temp is indeed negative: -10°F. But the wind is dead still - nothing. And that's a real relief, 'cause it's the wind chill that nails ya out in the barn lot. Let hope it stays calm, and we'll wait patiently for a warm up on Saturday. It's supposed to get up to about 20°F - we'll feel like hitting the beach!

Two great actors gone on the same day ...

Emmy-winning Patrick McGoohan, the actor who created one of British television's most surreal thrillers, has died aged 80, according to British media reports.

South Carolina Seeking To Outlaw Profanity

Screw Fuck this shit crap!

It looks like in an act that defies common sense, a bill has been introduced in the South Carolina State Senate that seeks to outlaw the use of profanity. According to the bill it would become a felony (punishable by a fine up to $5000 or up to 5 years in prison) to "publish orally or in writing, exhibit, or otherwise make available material containing words, language, or actions of a profane, vulgar, lewd, lascivious, or indecent nature". I'm not sure if "in writing" could be applied to the internet, but in any event this is scary stuff.
