Dell Abandons Its Customization Roots

On the way to irrelevance.

Dell intends to scale back it's build-to-order model service, while increasing sales of prepackaged systems. The goal: $3B USD savings by 2011. The downside: customers expect Dell to build-to-order. The deeper downside: Dell will outsource more production and assembly.

Smoking ban hamstrings stage productions

The progressive state can be doggedly illiberal in shielding every citizen from risk. Consider what happened when Colorado applied its ban on smoking to actors on a stage.

Supersonic Sheep Impresses Police Pursuers

If they think that's fast, they oughta be here come shearing time...

If sheep had Olympic Games, this one would be a gold medalist. A runaway sheep chased by police in northern Germany reached speeds of 45 kilometers an hour before jumping over the police car.
