Giant bird-lizard unearthed in China

Ha! They found my chicken with a 'tude.

Paleontologists have unearthed a T-Rex-sized "bird dinosaur", dubbed Gigantoraptor erlianensis. The beast, which lived 65 million years ago, stood five metres tall, was eight metres long, and would have weighed in at around 1.5 tonnes.

Great bit on the government subsidies flowing to corporate (and wealthy individual) interests. I know that here in Indiana the amount of public money flowing to slackers like these dwarfs the amount going to "welfare mothers". Which just makes it doubly insane...
