The Greatest Keyboard Ever Made

was beyond a doubt the Northgate Omnikey - and I am now the proud owner of a nearly new model 102.

The Ultra model was #2 on PC World's list of the "30 Most Missed Products". The function keys are in the correct place (along the left side, where the computing gods put them in the beginning), and the control eky is next to the 'A', with caps lock down by the space bar - again, where the computer deities designed them to go.

I lost my original Omnikey Ultra during the move to Minnesota in 1997 - and while some companies now make clones, nothing has the feel of the original. Maybe I'm just showing off my Inner Geek, but when you type as much as I do, the feel of the keyboard is one of the more important details that must be attended.
