Apple Shorts Software at Macworld

Great rant! Possibly the only article about technology that manages to imitate Shakespeare and quote both Max Schmeling and Ace Ventura (as in 'Pet Detective"). And score some brilliant barbs all around while doing so.

Security vendors talk up VoIP threats

The Reg second lined this as "Phantom menace?", and I'm inclined to agree. How is this sort of attack any different from "phishing" somebody over the Plain Old Telephone System? Is the same threat level, just a new (potentially) open door. That's a cause for concern, no doubt, but it hardly requires the kind of hype the security vendors are giving it.

Security vendors are talking up the potential for attacks on IP telephony systems, reckoned to be the next major market for security defences.
