One effect of this ruling will be the increased risk of death to police officers. Think about it: there's been a secret warrant signed out against you, the police arrive in the dead of night to serve it and burst into your house without knocking or identifying themselves, much less showing you the warrant. You think you're being burglarized and open fire at the criminals invading your property: a cop is killed and you're either killed yourself or arrested for murder.
Think that scenario's improbable? Think again.
