Rove: GOP to Use Terror As Campaign Issue

Well of course they will! What else are they going to campaign on? The economy? Immigration? Protecting our civil liberties?

As for his secondary statement on Democrats criticizing Judge Alito, I think Mr. Rove should get in the not-too-wayback machnie, and review some of the actions of the Republican Congress during the Clinton years. "Mean-spirited", indeed.

AP - Embattled White House adviser Karl Rove vowed Friday to make the war on terrorism a central campaign issue in November. He also said Democratic senators looked "mean-spirited and small-minded" in questioning Supreme Court nominee Samuel Alito.

Chirac threatens nuclear weapons against 'terrorist' states

I've seen several reports of this story, most of which imagine the [negative] reaction of the world if Bush had made similar statements. Well, I'd like to imagine the headline if the White House (or Rush Limbaugh, or FOX News) had released the story as is:

AFP - President Jacques Chirac for the first time raised the threat of a nuclear strike on any state that launches "terrorist" attacks against France.
