Researchers at the University of Alberta have discovered that chickens raised for meat can choose whether or not they'll funnel the nutrients they eat towards themselves or their eggs.

Depsite the best efforts of the Brits over several centuries to eradicate it, Gaelic hangs on. This insures it's political survival, but the real test will come as Ireland moves closer to the EU, which will put a higher cultural value on English as a 'lingua franca'.
The Irish language is officially recognised as a working language by the European Union.
