Man With Stained Chain Saw Let in to U.S.

Words fail me ...

Finally!

Well, not to mince words, it was a hugely successful day! Our campaign seems to be working big time: we sold out of bread before we were halfway through with the route, and sold all but one bottle of a case (12) of milk. This on the short week - next week is the big run. Oh, and did I mention 35 dozen eggs? Not quite a record, but right up there!

I'll have more to add tomorrow on this, when I take the time and tally up the numbers. But from my gut, I am most hopeful. And it's been a long time since I've had that feeling with this degree of confidence.

Unlocking the mystery behind lightning's puzzling friend

Having encountered ball lightning once, these kind of electrical phenomena just fascinate me.

A study led by Steven Cummer of Duke University, Durham, N.C. and Walter Lyons of FMA Research, Inc., Fort Collins, Colo. has found more evidence that sprites are generated by major lightning strikes. They also found the total charge, as it moves from the cloud to the ground, and multiplied by that distance, known as the "lightning charge moment," is most critical in the sprite's development.
