Better Search Results Than Google?
Years ago I used a commercial product named Gopher (a program, not the protocol) to search the hard drives of the classified ad paper I worked for at the time. Searching is a HUGE part of computer science, and information processing in general.

These kinds of new approaches fascinate me ... the better these technologies get, the better our CS and IT gets. It's as simple as that.

Yahoo to Dump Google
Not sure what Yahoo! thinks it's doing here ... I still get on it for group mailing lists and I have some friends (including a daughter) who uses it for a primary email address, but using Yahoo! for search? How quaint.

My prediction? Yahoo! dumps Google search technology and goes down the tubes as as directory/search engine.
