Good SPAM, Bad SPAM

There's no such thing as a "good" spammer.... nonetheless, I've questioned the SPAM I've received from the company involved as well. It's target market seems to be paranoids fearful of having p0rn discovered on their machines. Follow the links - fascinating stuff...

Cleaning up the armory

Damn coyotes are back! Two chickens in as many days - we're getting tired of feeding the pack breakfast in bed! So today we cleaned our guns - all of them.

Dusted off the old .22, cleaned and oiled it, mounted the scope. Squezzed off about 50 practice rounds between the two of us and got it sighted in dead center at 40 yards. If I recall correctly the last time it had been fired was 1990, when I went squirrel hunting in Tell City.

Cleaned the big (9mm) pistol, oiled it up - put the dinky .22 pistol away in the closet. It took way too many shots to finish off the coon that ate the kittens with the .22, we were just afraid of the power of "Millie" (as Kris calls her pistol). But after talking to some gun dealers, we decided we'd use a lighter load (124 gr. hollow point), and we don't think it'll penetrate the barn wall. But we have yet to test it - Kris just wanted it ready to rock in case she get the coyote tomorrow morning and has to finish him off.

We even cleaned up the old 16 ga. shotgun we found when we moved in here. It's a Stevens 1912 model - didn't fire it today cause we didn't trust the ammo we found with it, but the piece itself looks pretty good. Turns out Kris' dad bought one identical to it at an auction a few years ago for a hundred dollars....

It's supposed to storm tonight, but if it's decent in the morning she'll be waiting for the crowds at the chicken breakfast buffet. Hopefully, the line won't be long ....
