Man, did I get alot done yesterday. Wille woke me up at 7:30 am, I guess that sleeping until 9 is verboten when the puppy has to pee. Of course, he goes right back to bed ... go figure.
Drank coffee, read the news and made a couple of blog entries, then got to it about 10. I instlled the fancy latch Kris bought for the new gate - had to mount some 2x4's to get the side of the barn straight and sturdy enough to hold it.
Then I painted the old gates. Kris had picked up some paint last week and started on one, but when I tried to finish it I found the spray nozzle totally clogged. I finally got enough of of that can to finish the gate she'd started, and then used a second can to do the gate to the big east pasture.
Then I ran into town, picked up some light bulbs, more spray paint and some hardware and come back home. Got a nice little 7.5 watt night light in the barn now - I like to have a small light out there. Fixed a couple of the enclosures on the vapor lamps and sprayed the gate to the north pasture. Man, those gates look like new: it's amazing what a little paint will do!
The I went down to Dick's and planted the beans in our garden. I had also tried to pick up some Beefsteak tomato plants in town - nobody had any so I got some more Roma's and a couple of new varieties: Celebrity and Bradley. We'll see how they do.
I found where Baby had stashed the remaining kittens - behind the crib. There's only three still alive, as far as I can tell. The coon must've got the others. But hey - at least some are still kicking. That's a good thing. I sure did hate to lose Fracas, their mom. She was a great mouser.
Kris is in Jacksonville. I guess they had some difficulty finding a room - too many Marines coming home and their families are there to greet them. But they'll go to the beach with Hilary - having Grandpa visit her house should make her day.
Time to hit the sack - gotta write a bunch of code tomorrow (oops, later today).
